【overview】
This exhibition will feature hair designer Takehiro Uedo's homages to world-famous masterpieces. Shot on location overseas, the works were taken in places associated with painters such as Van Gogh, Lourec, and Monet, inviting visitors into the world of painting. The exhibition will also feature his latest work paying homage to photographer Shoji Ueda. Set against the backdrop of sand dunes, which Ueda Shoji has always been passionate about, the exhibition will showcase new horizons in hair design.
In addition, calligrapher Kenjiro Kawashiro will be exhibiting his ART calligraphy works, which he created with the aim of "creating kana calligraphy that can be appreciated like art and that blends into modern spaces like objets d'art." The works include "SUN-SHO," a series of homages to Sunshoan Shikishi (traditionally written by Ki no Tsurayuki), and "TSUGI," a series of homages to Tsugi Shikishi (traditionally written by Ono Michikaze).
The final piece in the exhibition is a collaborative piece based on Akiko Yosano's tanka poem, "My love is more beautiful than a rainbow, and I wish it would resemble a lightning bolt." Please come and see this new art exhibition in which the two different arts of "hair design" and "calligraphy" resonate with each other through the common theme of homage and combine into one.
