Snow covered

510mm × 510mm

An avalanche occurred on part of the snow-covered Mt. Fuji, and the surface of the mountain was visible. I witnessed preparations for spring being made under the snow.

Hakushu Kitahara's poem

Fuji covered in snow. Normally you can't see what's under the snow until spring comes, but a partial avalanche allowed us to see it. And I felt the preciousness of life and felt deeply, "Ah, the preparations for spring have already begun under the snow." I translated it like this.

This work is an image of that scene. In the main part of the paper, I wrote the song using a lot of vertical lines to express the breath of spring and the flow of melted snow.
